A Warm Welcome

The latest changes at the dome have made a huge difference.

A cousin who loves drywalling and who sees all the odd angles and shapes as a fun puzzle instead of a reason to throw in the towel - well, he’s just irreplaceable. I can’t wait to be done with all the drywall dust, but the difference solid walls make is astounding. Some rooms are bigger than I thought they’d be: the bathroom is not as big as the one at the Whispering Woods Farmhouse, but there’s definitely room for furniture. Some areas are smaller: the pantry wall doesn’t look big enough for all the planned cupboards, but we’ll see. I tried for a shot that shows some of the odd angles. This is looking from the living room back through the “hub” (the central area directly below the cupola) into what will eventually be my craft room.

Although we arrived after dark and in the cold, the dome was left warm and inviting for us, from a welcome sign, to a bathroom finished right down to a shower curtain, to a bed ready for us with my favorite touch: his and hers matching workbench bedside tables!
